Einstein said “the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.” I spent many years of my life doing just that. I kept striving for perfection, only to fall into a downward spiral of stress, anxiety, exhaustion, and negative self-talk. I believed that if I did everything right, I’d eventually feel like I was enough. My type-A personality fed into that perfectionism, as I struggled to control every detail of my career and personal life.
Then, a string of tragedies taught me that control was merely an illusion. My first marriage ended in divorce, I lost my second husband to colon cancer, and Hurricane Sandy rendered me homeless. Life pulled the rug out from under me, and I fought to keep going under the weight of constant inner turmoil. I knew I had to find another way to live.
My natural grit allowed me to keep going in the face of hardship, but it was through meditation and yoga that I found grace for myself. I realized that I didn’t need to strive for perfection, and it was okay to give myself the time and space to just be. I reconnected with my higher power, trusting God to guide me through all life’s ups and downs and ins and outs of life. A sense of inner peace and self-awareness blossomed inside me.
I went on to earn my Master’s Degree in Human Services and built a rewarding career in higher education. But my heart’s desire was to share the gifts of meditation and yoga with others. In 2015, I became a certified Baptiste
yoga teacher. At the end of 2019, I completed my 200-hour Meditation & Mindfulness Teacher Training and
founded Grit and Grace Meditation. In 2020, when we all were experiencing a pause in our life due to COVID,
I was called to explore and work with crystal alchemy bowls. This is a new journey that I am following and love the beauty and the light that comes in working with them.

I am constantly learning new tools for personal growth, healing, and self-care, while keeping up-to-date on the latest research in these areas. to a place where I can honestly say I’m living my best life both personally and professionally. It’s my mission to share
what I’ve learned along the way to help individuals and organizations become the best they can be, using years of
science-backed training in meditation, mindfulness, and self-care practices.
When I’m not “soulpreneuring,” I enjoy spending time with my loving husband, Marc, who encourages me to follow my dreams every day, along with my three grown children and rescue dog, Quimby. I also love filling my cup with traveling, hiking, spending time with nature, enjoying sunny days at the beach, paddle boarding, chocolate,
and delicious lattes.

This is a five day retreat that is meant to get your body out of the sympathetic fight or flight and into parasympathetic state where your body and mind can properly function again.
Because in today’s hectic world, many of us don’t have time to get out of fight or flight, this retreat is designed to do that. My hope is that you can have a jump start to reclaim a peaceful calmer state.
With a medical workup to assess your current health, acupuncture, daily yoga and/ or meditation and possible fine tuning of your medications and massage, you can take great steps to recover yourself and live a fulfilling life again.
The retreat can be customized to suit your needs and individual preferences.
Through years of clinical experience, I have seen that shocks and traumas of life whether they be a one time PTSD experience or ongoing complex PTSD experiences take a toll on one’s psyche, health and ability to thrive. Also, fear at times of major decision making can hold us back from the fulfilling life possible.
Tools you will take home after this five day retreat are learning to calm yourself and listen to your body and assessment of necessary treatment to balance your hormonal and nutritional state.
